Robin is a canadian botanist who thanks to Ladawn from Platinum Lining Events came to us with some of the most original ideas for her special day.

With her centerpiece we used blooming kumquats, succulents, eucalyptus leaves, lavenders and specific anemones, spray roses and ranunculus. All sitting in a vintage silver plated urn that resembled a 17th century still painting!

As always we would like to thanks the talented team at Desi Baytan photography. Desi and Connie are the talented duo behind these amazing shots!

To accent we used curly willow napking rings and loose succulents and organic green moss in her cocktail hour decorations.

Her bouquet was a simple large posie with lots of green deco including lavender, eucalyptus, lemon leaves and gardenia leaves that represented her botanist background and finished off with cherry brandy, freedom ecuadorean roses and pink peonies to give it a pretty wedding feel.

July’s mixer was held at the famed Coco Palms where guests were entertained by some of the finest Cuban hors d’oeurves in town. Carlos Valadez of Amaze Entertainment was the honorary MC and giveaways from the Cookielee ladies, Rosemary and Jenny were raffled off to lucky winners. Also there to talk about the Do’s and Don’ts of wedding professionals is LaDawn Williams from Platinum Lining Events. Flowers were provided by Ricard Delgado of Irises Designs and were given away at the end. Also at the mixer was DJ, Ray Flores of Ultimate Music Entertainment, musician Harold Wherry of the Blue Breeze Band, Max Montes from Dream Invites, Adriana Robledo from Signature Limos and Angie Flores.

“Day Of” Wedding Timeline

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, not to mention one of the busiest. After all the planning you’ve put into this special day, the mere thought of another schedule or checklist might make your head spin. But your wedding day schedule is one of the most important items you will need before you walk down that aisle. If you haven’t hired a wedding planner, you will need to create a time line, to make sure everything has a proper order. It’s never too early to start thinking about how you want the day to flow and start plotting out your day from the time you wake up until the last guest leaves the reception. A good wedding day schedule will help the day run smooth and hopefully on time!

How to get Started

You probably have portions of your wedding day schedule already mapped out. For example, what time the Ceremony, Cocktail and Reception will start. Now you just have to fill in the blanks. Start thinking about all the events you want to take place on your special day. Don’t forget to fill in the times of your wedding day appointments – hair and makeup, photography sessions for the ladies and gents, what time each of your vendors will need to arrive, DJ, Minister, Florist, Cake etc. What time you or your planner is going to arrive to check on your vendors to make sure they are executing every detail you contracted them to do. These details should at least get you started on the road to a detailed organized wedding time line.

What Else?

Now you’ll just need to pencil in the rest of your day. Plan your day hour by hour – or in half-hour increments if you really enjoy details! Give yourself plenty of travel time if you’re ceremony location and reception location are different, there is always traffic when you have to be somewhere at a specific time. Remember – most things will take you longer than planned so schedule things loosely to allow some flexibility in your day.

The “Day Of” Schedule

Here is a sample outline of what should be included in your timeline. Use this as a guide to help you create your own schedule for your big day. Keep in mind you will want to send out this itinerary at least a week in advance to all your vendors. Be sure to make copies for your groom, bridal party and parents.

9:00 AM Morning Wake up Call

9:30 AM Eat breakfast

10:30 Am Hairstylist appointment

12:00 PM Makeup appointment

12:00 PM Vendor arrivals (limo, florist, musicians, officiant, DJ, etc.)

1:00 PM Bride’s attendants arrive

1:00 PM Get dressed (about 2 hours before ceremony time)

2:00 Pm Photography sessions

3:00 PM Groomsmen arrive (about an hour ahead of time)

3:15 PM Guest Seating

3:30 PM Groom and best man arrive (about half an hour early)

3:30 PM Leave for ceremony

3:50 PM Bridesmaids and bride arrive (about 10 minutes before the ceremony)

4:00 PM Processional

4:30 PM Recessional

4:30 PM More Pictures

5:00 PM Cocktail Hour

6:00 PM Grand Entrance

Etc………

Add as many details of your ceremony and reception as you can. Remember this is what everyone will follow to ensure everything goes as planned. Happy Planning!

CWA Mixer at Chaffey College Chino Community Center

Another successful Mixer with many thanks to the board members of the CWA for supporting the Chaffey College Community Center’s grand opening. A few VIP guests were there to do the ribbon cutting including Councilman Glenn Duncan and Gary George of Chaffey College among others. LaDawn Williams, Fabian Cordova, Ricardo Delgado, Luis Holguin, Jack Blockhuys, Desi Baytan and many others helped make this night a memorable occasion. D’Gala set up the beautiful tables, Cookie Lee and Postnet provided giveaways for the raffle. Entertainment was provided by Harold Wherry and his amazing Blue Breeze Band, DJs Ray Flores of Ultimate Music Entertainment and Alex Morales of Primetime Music & Entertainment. Our host, Fabian Cordova, from Beverly Hills DJ Company was there to MC the event which made the room fun and interactive and showcased many vendors who attended. Flowers were provided by Ricardo at Irises Floral Designs. And we can’t forget LaDawn Williams of Platinum Lining Events who really made the Mixer the best it can be. Thanks LaDawn for all the hard work! The CWA hosts mixers so that vendors and brides connect through our outreach with venues like the Chaffey College Community Center and other networking activities. It was a fantastic time at The Wedding Salon in West LA held at the London Hotel. Jack Blockhuys of Signature Limos had a table display there and fellow CWA members came to check him out and partake in this eclectic and unique bridal show. Among those from CWA who attended were LaDawn Williams of Platinum Lining Events, Ricardo Delgado and Adrianna Robledo from Irises Floral Designs and Desi and Connie Baytan from Desi Baytan Photography. So, what was all the hype about? Turns out, this was a killer networking event. Lots of platinum brides attended in what was a tightly packed show. More importantly, this opportunity provided the CWA a chance to meet hotel management and other vendors in the West Los Angeles area. Check out the gallery posted here by Desi. CWA Monthly Meeting – September 8

We were excited to hear event coordinator, LaDawn Williams, to talk about budgeting weddings and what’s involved in coming up with a realistic budget goal. Armed with statistics and a Powerpoint presentation, LaDawn explains that a starting price for a wedding is around $22,000 (not including rings, honeymoon, dinner rehearsal, and other pre and post wedding costs). What LaDawn emphasized is having a wedding coordinator will most often help clarify your specific needs for a wedding and to help with even negotiating with vendors. Among the guests was a bride-to-be. What was so important about this meeting was to help educate both bride and vendor relationships. CWA members had the opportunity to ask questions to brides about why she picked a specific vendor. Vendors on the other hand learned when it is the best time to follow up with a bride and how often to do so. This is just one of the benefits of joining the California Wedding Association: vendors helping each other succeed!
